Volunteering at Sunrise Living Facility

Do you ever feel like you want to inspire and don’t know where to start?

Believe it or not it’s all right before you.  It takes minutes out of your day.  It takes an idea, an action, a bit of imagination and soul.

Happy Orange Project took this ideal and went into our community. We set our eyes on how we could contribute.  We’ve decided that this ideal is endless and we need EVERYONE to be involved.  We also decided it starts with small acts with great love.

On Valentine’s Day, we delivered valentines to retired veterans at a local senior living facility. Our hearts were warmed with their joy that arised from such a simple act of kindness. Check out our video below to see our experience.

After this outing we formed a relationship with Sunrise Senior Living of Springfield and their exceptional staff. They joined forces with Happy Orange Project to help us do outreach in our local community. We began to volunteer at their residence, and in return they were eager to help us make and donate over 100 baby beanies for our Hat Drive for Fort Belvoir Community Hospital. This is our first of many joint ventures together.

We discovered we could make a difference right in our backyard. We invite you to join us, and reach out to nearest senior living facility near you. When you do, make sure to send us your story and use #happyorangeproject and #bekind in your Twitter, Instagram and Facebook posts. Join us!
