March 8th is International Women's Day and our team went on a mission to celebrate women in our local neighborhood, Old Town Alexandria. We celebrated women's day by preparing 60 individual rose bouquets the night before with little cards on them. A big thank you to Giant and Wegmans for donating gift cards to the Happy Orange Project to make this day a success.
On the morning of March 8th, we woke up with a smile on our face knowing that we are going on a mission to brighten the days of women we met. We gave out the roses to women we met on the street on their way to work, in the coffee shops, in a local fitness center and our post office.
